Jimmy C. started Carine Chem-Dry back in 1990 and has been making homes on Long Island cleaner & healthier ever since. He worked in the electronics industry for 10 years right out of high school. He learned a tremendous amount and got to travel extensively across the USA and abroad. However, Jimmy always wanted to have his own business, then he discovered Chem-Dry.
Carine Chem-Dry’s mission is to help people live healthy lives, that start with clean carpets and a healthy home. Our proprietary hot carbonating extraction cleaning process penetrates deep into the fibers, removing common household non-living allergens* from carpets and upholstery. Plus, our solution contains no soaps or detergents. And, Chem-Dry uses 80% less water than typical steam cleaning so carpets dry in hours instead of days, making it a more convenient carpet cleaning choice. All of this means Chem-Dry cleans for your health like no one else.

History of the Chem-Dry Brand
Robert Harris began his journey in the 1970s as a carpet cleaner while putting himself through law school. Unsatisfied with the cleaning products available at the time, he set out to find a better solution. After years of studying chemical properties and experimenting with various cleaning formulas—much like Edison’s trial-and-error process in inventing the light bulb—Harris finally developed the perfect cleaning formula.
This discovery led to the founding of Chem-Dry, and demand for his superior cleaning method quickly grew. What started as a small business has since expanded into a global franchise network, including Carine Chem-Dry, proudly serving Long Island, NY.
